June Shad and Trout

The Sacramento River Wild Rainbow Trout fly fishing from Redding to Red Bluff has been good the past few weeks drifting small nymphs under a strike indicator , drifting live bait or trolling small lures. Lance and his son Jared were up last week for a ½ day trout fishing trip they hooked about 20 fish and landed 10 of them , Jared landed one that was 4 lbs. and about 20 inches long. Shad fishing has finally gotten good we were out the other day and hooked 40 fish and landed 28 of them drifting pink grubs on a 1/16 jig head not bad for a 4 hour trip.
