High water Trout

Sacramento River Trout fishing has been on hold for the past month with so many storms hitting the North state the river has remained high and muddy. The flows out of Keswick dam today is 28,900 cfs. Way to high for a fishing trip. Hopefully in the next couple weeks things will get back to normal.

Sacramento River salmon 8-12-2018

Sacramento River Salmon and Trout fishing is good now. The Salmon are dime bright and fight like bull dogs. Drifting roe or running plugs you have a chance at catching a King salmon. Last trip out we hooked 3 fish and landed 1 King Salmon that was 18 lbs. and 1 Steelhead that was 5 lbs.
Trout fishing is fantastic from Redding to Cottonwood. Drifting small fly’s or pulling plugs. Last few trips out we hooked about 40 trout and landed about 20 of them, them from 14 to 25 inches long and up to, 6 lbs. Wild Rainbow Trout are very hard fighting fish.
What are they biting on, Fly's, Plugs, and Bugs. We practice catch and release for the Wild Rainbow Trout. A camera is a must have for every trip.
