Steelhead fishing Dec. 2018

Sacramento River Steelhead fishing is still going strong. Dave and Bill fished with me last week for Steelhead and Trout and had a great day 4 Steelhead to 6 lbs. and 15 Wild Rainbow Trout. The largest one was 22 inches. What are they biting on, Fly fishermen are using small nymphs under an indicator. Bait fishermen are drifting worms or crickets. Plug fishermen are using hot shots. We practice catch and release on the Sacramento River. A camera is a must have on every trip.

Salmon fishing Late Fall 2017

Sacramento River Salmon fishing is great in the Anderson area now. The storms we had a few weeks ago have made a lot of fresh Salmon move up river. There are a lot of jack Salmon being caught and some over 20 lbs.. Back trolling plugs with a Sardine wrap on it or back bouncing Roe or drifting Roe has been working well for my clients to get there fish.
Steelhead and Trout fishing from Redding to Anderson has been good the past 4 months with about 30 hookups a trip. Most of the Wild Rainbow trout we have been catching are 9 to 20 inches long and weigh 1 lbs. to 7 lbs. they are all very hard fighting fish large or small. We practice catch and release on the Sacramento River. A camera is a must have on every trip. Fly fishermen are using small nymphs under an indicator. Bait fishermen are drifting worms or crickets. Plug fishermen are using hot shots.
