Salmon fishing 10-15-2017

Sacramento River Salmon fishing has been good the past 6 weeks and with more fresh Kings showing up every day the good bite could go until the season closes in December.Back trolling plugs with a Sardine wrap on it, Back bouncing Roe or drifting roe has been working well for my clients to get there fish. The average size of Salmon this year so far has been 7 to 21 lbs.  I practice catch and kill for salmon. The trout and Steelhead are on a good bite right now. Last trip out Bill and Keith landed 15 Wild Rainbow Trout from 12 to 16 inches and 2 Steelhead one 18 and the other 22 inches. Fly fishermen are using small nymphs under an indicator. Bait fishermen are drifting worms , Crickets or roe. Plug fishermen are using hot shots. We practice catch and release on the Sacramento River. A camera is a must have on every trip.
