2014 September Salmon

SacramentoRiver Salmon fishing from Redding to Corning has been great one day and not so good the next the problem is you don't land every fish hooked we have been hooking 1 to 4 Salmon a trip. The water is warmer this year then it ever has been since they put the cold water curtain in at Shasta dam. The Salmon are moving up river fast. Find the fish and you will catch some they are very fresh and dime Bright. Back bouncing Roe or side drifting Roe has been working the best for me.
Trout fishing is good now and some steelhead have started to show up. We practice catch and release on the Sacramento River. A camera is a must have on every trip. What are they biting on, Fly fishermen are using small nymphs under an indicator. Bait fishermen are drifting worms or crickets. Plug fishermen are using hot shots or flat fish.
