Feb. Trout on a Fly

Sacramento River Trout fishing was great on the 25th of Feb. the weather was perfect no wind.  I called my Dad up, lets go fishing, a couple hours later we were drifting fly’s for Wild Rainbow Trout below Anderson. There was a good Candis hatch going on. A lot of Trout were jumping and sipping bugs off the surface. Dad hooked up immediately it was a nice 12 inch Wild Rainbow that we got a picture of then released. Over the next few hours we hooked and release about 15 fish. The biggest one of the day was a 20 inch Steelhead that hit a #14 Prince nymph. The camera battery died I was unable to get a picture of that fish Bummer. Trout fishing is good year round on the Sac.
Striper fishing will start getting good soon with more rain. Trolling Minnows for Stripers is allot of fun and very easy to do, great for the beginner fisherman.
