June 2015 Trout fishing

Sacramento River Trout fishing is good now. The river flows have came up to 7000 cfs. That makes it a lot safer to get around on the river and creates a few more placed for the trout to hold. My oldest son A.J. was in town for a couple days so naturally we went Trout fishing with his 2 brothers and his oldest son Tom and had a great time. We hooked about 20 fish and landed about 12 of them in a 4 hour period. What are they biting on. Fly’s, Plugs or Bugs. We practice catch and release on the Sacramento River for the Wild Rainbows.

Shad fishing in the Red Bluff area has started up. I fished last week in the evening with a couple guys and they landed about 12 Shad and lost that many more. The Shad are biting on green or pink grubs.
